In an effort to eliminate childhood lead poisoning and reduce the spread of illnesses, the Lead and Healthy Homes Program has a fun and educational hand washing curriculum for students ages 3-8.
With the help of mascot Rinsey the Raccoon, the 30 minute curriculum includes:
-
An interactive story book on the 5-steps of hand washing (soap and water, bubbles, 20 second rule, rinse, and dry)
-
A sing along as students pretend to wash their hands for the appropriate amount of time
-
An interactive activity where students must help Rinsey wash his hands the right way by putting the steps in order
-
At the end of the program, students will receive an activity book with stickers to take home.
-
Teachers will receive free posters to place in bathrooms with Rinsey reminding students of the 5-steps.
Wash Your Hands With Rinsey is a program funded by the New Jersey Department of Health created to help children learn proper hand washing techniques while educating them on the importance of washing.
